A Simple Tool That Finally Gives You Control Over Your Finances
Although I don't like doing this, let me introduce you to my own tool and show you how it can help you get your finances under control. It was born for a very simple reason — after years of using Excel spreadsheets, I got a bit frustrated and wanted something that would do the work for me.
I tried a bunch of different apps. They were either unnecessarily complicated or didn't really solve anything — just a prettier Excel with a few extra charts.
So I said: "Ok, I'll make it myself." First just for me. Then I showed it to a few friends... and they all wanted the same thing.
And so this tool was born.
What Does It Actually Do?
I believe that for most people, it covers everything essential needed for personal finance management:
- Upload a bank statement / account statement
- Automatically categorize payments and learn your preferences
- Set up a budget that actually works for you
- Have all accounts and investments in one place
- Work with goals and stay motivated
1. Uploading Bank Statements
Getting started is completely simple.
You download a PDF statement from your online banking and upload it to the app. Done. If you pay a lot in cash, you can of course also enter payments manually, item by item.

Unfortunately, every bank has a slightly different statement format. If your bank doesn't work perfectly yet, I'd be very happy if you send me a sample statement and I'll integrate it.
Just please black out personal information. For the algorithm adjustment, 1-2 pages of payments is enough (even just a week, I don't need to know everything about you).
2. Automatic Categorization
The goal was to make this more than just another manual Excel.
That's why the tool:
- automatically categorizes payments,
- gradually learns your behavior.
At the beginning, it handles the main and common merchants. But the magic is that when you spend 5 minutes the first month manually correcting a few payments, the tool remembers.
The next month:
- it knows where everything belongs,
- and does most of the work itself.

3. Setting Up Your Budget
This is where we get to the heart of it.
Before this step, I recommend reading the article:
Once you upload your statement:
- the system prepares everything in the background,
- you just enter a few numbers,
- and the budget is ready.
You can:
- set the budget month by month,
- or set it once and just fine-tune it later.

Once payments are uploaded, you immediately see reality:
- where you're fine,
- where something is approaching the limit,
- where you've overdone it a bit.

When some category is suspiciously low or high, you simply click through and see why. Sometimes it's just wrong categorization. Other times it's a small but needed reality check.
And that's exactly the moment when the tool has the most value — you know about a problem in time.
4. Accounts and Investments
If you're like me and have:
- a checking account,
- a savings account,
- a retirement account,
- investments,
- maybe crypto...
...then you're probably annoyed that you don't have everything clearly in one place.
That's why there's a simple concept:
Monthly "Snapshot"
Once a month, you record the balance of all accounts and investments. This way:
- you see the complete picture,
- you track whether you're actually getting closer to your goal.

It's not just about history. The main point is motivation.
That's why you'll also find a prediction of future development — I recommend playing with it for a while.

Honestly: when you see this at least once a week, it's much easier to say "no" to unnecessary expenses.
General Overview - Dashboard
The Dashboard shows you the most important information clearly in one place.
I'm deliberately not showing it here — I'll let you try it yourself.
And if something is missing: let me know.
Conclusion
Getting your finances under control isn't complicated when you have the right tool. This one was born from real need, not as a marketing project.
I'd be very happy to receive:
- feedback,
- ideas for improvement,
- or just your opinion.
Write to vymerd@gmail.com and help me keep fine-tuning this tool so it fits you as well as possible.
